Smoothies have become a regular part of my diet, ever since buying a Vitamix blender. I’ve tried SO many combinations of fruits and out of all the combinations, this strawberry pineapple combo is definitely ranked up there as one of my favorites. There are so many different types of smoothies out there. Each provides a different taste and texture and over time, you’ll learn what your preference is.

Lately, I’ve been on a ‘fruit only’ smoothie kick. By that, I mean that the only ingredients in the smoothie are simply fruits. Not only are these smoothies delicious as is, but they also are a great base to add other ingredients! I share some ideas below.

How to Make a Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie

This recipe is as simple as adding all the ingredients to your blender and blending on high until the mixture is smooth. Yep, that’s it. Perfect for mixing up quickly on your way out the door and taking on the go! For the full recipe including all measurements, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Elevate the presentation by adding a few slices of fresh strawberries or pineapple to the rim of your glass. You could also add a sprinkle of shredded coconut or chia seeds.

Fresh vs Frozen Fruit

This smoothie can be made with fresh or frozen fruit, depending on what you have on hand and what is available to you. Frozen fruit is a great option if fresh fruit is expensive and to conveniently keep on hand in your freezer anytime a craving for this easy smoothie strikes! The use of frozen pineapple not only enhances the chill factor of the smoothie but also gives it a thicker and creamier consistency without the need for ice. If you are using a fresh pineapple, check out my post for the best way to cut a pineapple.

Strawberries add a juicy and succulent element to the smoothie, contributing to its overall freshness. Whether you use fresh or frozen fruits, you achieve a beautiful blend of flavors, while the frozen components contribute to a satisfyingly thick texture. This dynamic duo not only elevates the taste experience but also ensures you get the maximum nutritional benefits from these vibrant fruits. So, whether you’re seeking a refreshing treat or a nutrient-packed snack, this strawberry pineapple smoothie with the best of both worlds has got you covered. If you use fresh fruit, you will want to add ice cubes when blending.

Adding Sweetener

Tailor the sweetness of your smoothie to your liking by adding a little bit of honey, agave syrup, or another sweetener. Taste as you go to find the perfect balance, adding more as neeeded.

Adjusting the Consistency

You may need to adjust the amount of water/ ice cubes you add to get the consistency just right. Because I used frozen strawberries, I needed almost a full cup of water to get the consistency to where I wanted it to be. To thin your smoothie, add more water. To make it thicker, add more ice.

Simplify your routine by prepping individual smoothie packs with pre-cut fresh fruits or measured out frozen fruit and keeping them in the freezer. This way, you can enjoy a quick, hassle-free smoothie anytime by dumping the ingredients into your blender without having to count or measure!

Other Additions

Remember, the beauty of smoothies lies in their versatility, so feel free to get creative and tailor the recipe to suit your taste preferences and nutritional goals. Happy blending!

  • Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder to transform this smoothie into a more substantial and satisfying meal or post-workout snack.
  • Add other fruits such as a banana or other berries.
  • Sneak in some leafy greens, like spinach or kale, for an added nutrient boost without compromising the fruity flavors. The vibrant colors of the strawberries and pineapple will camouflage the greens seamlessly.
  • Add a splash of orange juice, or use milk or almond milk instead of water.
